The complete guide
How to pick a poker chips set for a home game
A poker set lives or dies on two things: how many chips you have, and whether they are all still together next time you want to play.
What you actually get
This set is 500 chips, 2 decks of cards, a dealer button, a small blind button, a big blind button and 5 dice. It is sold as a Texas Holdem kit, so the buttons match the game most home tables play.
Two decks matter more than people expect. One gets shuffled while the other is dealt, which keeps the table moving instead of stalling between hands.
The case is the part people underrate
Chips bought loose end up in a biscuit tin. This set comes in a heavy duty aluminium case with a black felt interior, which is where the whole kit lives between games.
That means the cards, the buttons and the dice stay with the chips. Nothing goes missing in a drawer, and the set travels to a friend's house in one hand.
What we will not guess at
The maker publishes the count, the contents and the case build. It does not publish chip weight, chip material, the colour breakdown or the case dimensions.
We could estimate those. We are not going to. If any of that decides the purchase for you, email us first and we will tell you exactly what we can confirm.
Is 500 chips the right number?
Five hundred is a lot of chips for a kitchen table game, and that is the point. You can seat a bigger group, run deeper stacks, or split the set across two tables without counting chips back in halfway through the night.
If you are buying for one small regular game, you will simply never run short. If you are buying for a group that grows, you have room already.
