What the guides on this site are

The buying guides and product descriptions here are general information, written from what we know about the products we sell. They are not advice about who a game will suit in your house. You know the people who will play it; we know the games.

Age recommendations and safety warnings

Several games here carry an age recommendation or a small parts warning from the maker, and we repeat it as published. Treat those as limits, not suggestions: an age line on a game is usually about small parts and safety, not about how good a player is. Where a maker asks for adult supervision, that requirement is part of the product.

Not everything here is for children. The steel tip dart board set has sharp darts that are thrown, so it needs a clear throwing area and a sensible spot to hang, and it is not something to leave out around young children. The maker publishes no age rating for it and we do not invent one.

What we claim, and what we do not

We describe what each product is, what it is made of, and what the maker says about it. Where a game has a learning side, such as the wooden Montessori set for shapes and sorting, we describe it in ordinary terms. We do not promise any educational, developmental or therapeutic outcome for any game, and we do not publish effectiveness figures, because we have none to cite.

Where the maker publishes no certification for a product, the product page says so rather than implying one. If you find wording on this site that goes further than a maker's own published information, it is a mistake and we would like to know about it.

Photographs and colour

Product photographs are of the product being sold, not a stand-in. Colour reproduction varies between screens. Measurements quoted are subject to slight variances, so measure your space before buying larger items.

Statements about the law

Where this site refers to Irish law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2022 and the Data Protection Act 2018, that is general information rather than legal advice. Nothing on this page limits your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2022, which apply to everything we sell.
